Brussels Sprouts wrapped in Turkey Bacon

Amanda Fox

This is a pretty simple recipe that can serve as a great side dish or appetizer.

Ingredients:

Brussels sprouts - As many as you want to serve.

Turkey Bacon - 1 for each brussels sprout

Directions:

  1. Clean up the brussels sprouts. If they have any yucky leaves, pull them off. Cut off the root end.

  2. Place the sprout on the end of a strip of bacon and roll it up. You can use a toothpick to stab through if it doesn't want to stay put.

  3. Place on a cookie sheet and bake.

  4. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.

  5. Serve and enjoy!

The recipes that inspired this one, are usually made with regular bacon. If you have been cleared to introduce regular bacon, then go ahead and use that. The other recipes also brush maple syrup over the bacon before rolling them up. I was feeling lazy and in a hurry, so I made these without the maple syrup. But again, if you want to include the maple syrup, I'm sure that would be ok.

Other options, are to toss the brussels sprouts in olive oil and salt and pepper before you roll them. Its really up to you.

When baking these in the oven, the recipe says to bake them for 20-25 minutes.

You can check them by poking them with a fork. If it's not cooked enough for you, cover with foil and bake a little longer until they are where you want them to be. You could try another 10 minutes.
